Walk commences at Stroanfreggan Bridge OS Explorer Map 328. Grid Position: (G/px) NX 64508 91777. Total distance: 11.7Km. Total climb 220mtr. Rated – moderate.
From the car park by the Old School House walk west about 350 mtr to pick up the sign post for SUW and Manquhill Hill. Follow this track on a reasonably gentle ascent for about 3.5km to summit. Walk steepens slightly as you hit the tree line and steepens a bit more as you approach the summit. Good views mainly to the south and west. Now descending to the north east and still on the SUW for about one kilometre until you join a forest track at G/px. NX 66742 95572 taking this track heading south. Continue on a gentle descent for about 1km until you come to a forest clearing at G/px 66850 94550 where if you look to your left you will see a bothy (locked) on a track running parallel to yours. Walk down to join this track then continue on a southerly heading until you reach the white and pristine buildings of Cornharrow Estate. As you pass to the south of the buildings keep an eye open to see if you can spy the usually antipodean occupants of the pens to the left – yes you are seeing correctly – they are wallabies. Keep on the track for about another km until you meet the main road where a right turn and a walk of just over 1km will take you back to the car.
